It has been a roller coaster of feelings over the past month after losing our second baby. However, it does not compare to the last 11 months. Our lives will never be the same and I know I’m surrounded by people that care about us but I don’t think they quite understand that this is not something we will ever get over or forget. Annabelle is part of our lives forever. When she died, a part of us died with her but we live on…Annabelle is in our thoughts when we wake and when we fall asleep. This isn’t all sad though, it is also about happy memories and this is what this blog is all about…
The song, “The Hurt & The Healer” by Mercy Me is a song I heard a lot in the first few months after losing Annabelle. This song was written in honour of the band’s lead singer’s cousin who was a firefighter killed in the line of duty. The grief in the words of the song resonated with me and I was reminded of it again today when I heard it for the first time in ages …”Breathe, sometimes I feel it’s all that I can do… Pain so deep that I can hardly move…” “I’m alive even though a part of me has died… Take my heart and breathe it back to life…”
